Diversity Summit
Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Diversity Summit at the Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ Center for Landscape Architecture in Washington, D.C.
In 2013, Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ convened its first Diversity Summit with the goal of
developing a deeper understanding of why landscape architecture is
failing to attract a more diverse profile. Each summit has brought
together a group of experienced and emerging landscape architects who
identify as African American or Latinx to design strategies to address
issues of diversity, equity and inclusion in the field.
Past
participants of the Diversity Summit community continue to collaborate
around projects and initiatives that inform Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ's DE&I efforts, including those highlighted below.

Leveraging Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion During COVID-19 The COVID-19 crisis has made many jobs vulnerable, but the ability to maintain diverse talent may be most at risk. A review of the March/April 2020 Business Study by the Institute for Public Relations (IPR) and PR firm Peppercomm showed that ¡°Diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives have been somewhat swept aside for the time being¡± (Ragan¡¯s PR Daily).
The following reading list sheds light on why DE&I may lose momentum during the COVID-19 crisis and what¡¯s at risk when you dissolve DE&I programming. It also presents strategies to leverage DE&I efforts and strengthen the future of organizations.
