Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ the L.A.R.E. Exams

The Landscape Architect Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.) is a crucial step towards becoming licensed as a Professional Landscape Architect. The four-part exam evaluates your skills, knowledge, and abilities to ensure the protection of public health, safety, and welfare.

Licensure & Exam Eligibility  

Eligibility for licensure and the L.A.R.E. can vary from state to state. It's crucial to understand your state's requirements for licensure qualification and their rules for taking the exam. For example, there are a handful of state licensing boards that require candidates holding an accredited landscape architecture degree to be pre-approved to sit for the exams. As another example, some states have a timeclock for taking the exams, meaning a candidate must pass all four exams within a certain time period after taking their first exam.

Consulting CLARB¡¯s and their is always advisable. If, as a candidate, you have uncertainty involving your particular education and experience we highly recommend contacting the licensure board in the jurisdiction where you wish to become licensed.
